Jie Xu is an associate professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at LMU. He joined the LMU faculty in 2009. Prior to that, Dr. Xu was a postdoc research fellow at the Biomedical Sensing and Signal Processing (BioSSP) Center of University of Massachusetts, and conducted research on breast cancer and skin cancer diagnosis using microwave frequency techniques. He received his Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering with a specialty in antennas and propagation from University of Massachusetts Amherst, Amherst, MA, in 2008. From April to August of 2003, he also worked as a full-‐‐time software engineer in Zhongxing Telecommunications Equipment (ZTE) Corp. in Shenzhen, China, where he took part in the development of the system software for cdma2000 1X RTT cellular systems and was responsible for the radio frequency control part on the BS side. Prof. Xu is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and a member of the Antenna and Propagation Society.
